The Freedom in Being Lost

after work today, i decided to wander a little. the best way for me to figure out how to get around in a new city is to drive it, so that’s what i did. i got myself lost and found, lost again and found again, lost once more – and this time pretty well. but there was no panic, no oh-my-god-i’m-lost-and-how-will-i-ever-find-my-home feeling. just a feeling of freedom. i had nowhere to go and no time to be there, so i just wandered. i think i journeyed into Alexandria proper, and on into some suburbs thereof. i did attempt to call rob and see if his iphone could make sure i wasn’t heading to albequerque, but it seems that although the iphone is capable of doing almost everything except wash the dishes, it doesn’t like to let you talk and surf the web at the same time. ah, well – no worries. i eventually found my way to 395, which led me to 95, which had an exit to Lorton, which led me to a road i knew. i took the long, scenic way home, and it felt lovely.

Wait, wait, wait...

You moved?!

And when were you going to tell me?

Crap! This town just lost a little more cool.

Today I am a sad panda...

um, i told you when we were experiencing our own personal halloween horror night.

well, maybe i didn't know WHEN i was moving then... it all came about kinda quickly...

i'm sorry, sad panda, but i'll be back to visit... and i have a spare bedroom for visitors...

I knew you were moving, I just hoped it wouldn't be so soon.

:(

You have a visitor's room! Hot diggity dog! I'm so there! See you next month!

well, consider yourself officially invited, lovey.

:o)

Ok, where do you move?

I'm looking online for tickets...

technically i'm in woodbridge, va, but you can fly into either of the dc airports... try spirit - they tend to have ridiculous deals all the time.

hey, you wouldn't want to come up for new years, would you? there's the official city blowout which, though a little pricey, includes an open bar, buffet and munchies, 3 bands, 2 "club" areas, etc. and the dress code is "creative black tie"... could be fun!

YES!

Sounds great! I just got paid today too! I'll grab a ticket and call you with the dates.

Yay! I bought my tickets! Now we shall get royally smashed on NYE and find rich, single, gorgeous men and have a blast right? For as much as those tickets cost that should be the minimum!

well, clearly... i'm pretty sure we can eat and drink our way through those ticket prices easily enough.

now the hard part: what to wear? they liken "creative black tie" to "what you'd wear to the MTV music awards"...

Hmmmm...

Then we will definitely need a theme. Shall we go as ANTM rejects? Glam-retro rock stars? 1940s style chic? I'm thinking Coco Chanel...

This will be awesome!

ANTM rejects sound awesome, right?

it does, but are we going to further theme - like we just got kicked off a particular photo shoot?

actually, all of those themes sound good to me...

Ok, my love. Here is the website that I found. It has over 1500 pics from all eleven seasons of ANTM. Have fun going through them! I'll post the pics that I like.
